Enrolling in DUO

Process details how to enroll & install DUO on a smartphone, tablet or other device to be used for authentication when logging into the DD or Qualfon VPN via Cisco AnyConnect.

Citrix users will now be prompted to enroll in DUO for multi-factor authentication.  The Citrix login experience will change slightly and employees that have not enrolled in DUO will be prompted to setup. Alternatively, you might have received an email with an enrollment link.

NOTE:  There is a short video you can watch before performing the steps below, go to https://guide.duo.com/enrollment.

  1. Start the process by either:
    • For Self Service, please log into the following link with your Qualfon account: https://duoenrollment.qualfon.com/
    • W@H Agents logging into Secure Remote Worker and/or Citrix will now be prompted to Start the setup for DUO.

  2. On the Welcome screen, click Start setup to begin enrolling the device.

  3. Select the type of device you'd like to enroll and click Continue. We recommend using a smartphone for the best experience, but you can also enroll a landline telephone, a security key, or iOS/Android tablets.

  4. Type Your Phone Number.  Select the country from the drop-down list and type in your phone number.
    • Use the number of your smartphone, landline, or cell phone that you'll have with you when you're logging in to a Duo-protected service. You can enter an extension if you chose "Landline" in the previous step.
    • If enrolling a tablet you are not prompted to enter a phone number.
  5. Then double-check that you entered it correctly, check the box, and click Continue.

  6. Choose the Platform/device's operating system and click Continue.

  7. Install Duo Mobile on the device you enrolled by opening the app store and searching for Duo Mobile.
    • Duo Mobile is fast & easy to use, works in any country and doesn't require cell service.
    • Duo Mobile is an app that runs on the device, i.e.smartphone, and helps you authenticate quickly and easily. Without it you'll still be able to log in using a phone call or text message, but for the best experience we recommend that you use Duo Mobile.
  8. Follow the platform-specific instructions on the screen to install Duo Mobile. After installing the app return to the enrollment window and click I have Duo Mobile installed.

  9. Activate the Duo Mobile app so it links to your account for authentication usage.
  10. On iPhone, Android, and Windows Phone activate Duo Mobile by scanning the barcode with the app's built-in barcode scanner. Follow the platform specific instructions for your device:

  11. The "Continue" button is clickable after you scan the barcode successfully.
    • If unable to scan the barcode, click on the Or, have an activation link emailed to you instead link and follow the follow the instructions.

  12. Configure the Device Options (optional):
    1. You can use Device Options to give your phone a more descriptive name, or you can click Add another device to start the enrollment process again and add a second phone or another authenticator.
    2. If this is the device you'll use most often with Duo then you may want to enable automatic push requests by changing the When I log in: option and changing the setting from "Ask me to choose an authentication method" to "Automatically send this device a Duo Push" or "Automatically call this device" and click Save
    3. With one of the automatic options enabled Duo automatically sends an authentication request via push notification to the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone or a phone call to your device (depending on your selection).
    4. Click Continue to login to proceed to the Duo Prompt.

    5. Your device is ready to approve Duo authentication requests. Click Send me a Push to give it a try. All you need to do is tap Approve on the Duo login request received at your phone.

    6. You'll receive an Enrollment Successful! Message at the bottom of the screen in green.

  13. Proceed to the connect to the correct VPN.
